Meet Lynn Kohl

Hi, I’m Lynn Kohl, the baker and artist behind Kohl’s Kookies. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into a passion for creating edible works of art. I couldn’t keep these creations to myself, so I began sharing them—bringing a little extra sweetness to life’s special moments.

More than 25 years ago, I crafted custom birthday and wedding cakes while balancing family life. As the years grew busier, my time in the kitchen gradually took a back seat. Little did I know that a global pandemic would reignite a spark that lead me back to my artistic roots.

In the winter of 2021, I decided to try Christmas sugar cookies. At first, they were intimidating, but after hours of research and a lot of practice, I fell in love with the art of decorating. What once felt intimidating soon became my creative outlet.

Outside the kitchen, I have a long-standing career as a Life Insurance Underwriter, with over 30 years of experience. My attention to detail and precision in that field naturally carry over into my cookie decorating.

I am blessed with a wonderful, supportive husband and a 30-year-old son—though I have no clue how that happened since I’m fairly certain I’m still 30 myself (LOL)!

Beyond baking, I have a love for photography, hiking, and exploring the beauty of nature while horseback riding with my two horses, Phoenix and Trooper. I would love to incorporate more travel into my schedule as there are so many incredible places in the world just waiting to be explored. And believe it or not, I have not traveled outside of the US – yet!
