Commonly Asked Questions

How do I pickup my cookies?

All orders that are not shipped (within Colorado only) must be picked up (contactless porch pick up) from Kohl’s Kookies, located in Berthoud, CO. Once the order is confirmed, payment is made, and a pickup date is established, I will send you the address directly. We can discuss a meeting location if it works for both of us.

Why is the full payment due upfront?

All of Kohl’s Kookies are custom to your special order.  I require payment upfront to be able to purchase any needed supplies specific to your order. This could be a specific cookie cutter (I have a lot of cutters, but not all of them) as well as the time spent creating the custom design for you. I also cannot resell them if you change your mind about the order.

How long do my cookies stay fresh?

I individually heat seal all cookies. They will stay fresh (on the counter) for up to 2 weeks. DO NOT REFRIGERATE. See below (freezing) for extended freshness. I heat seal for everyone’s safety and to keep the cookies as fresh as possible.

If I have extra cookies, can I freeze them?

Yes! Be sure to keep the cookies in their heat sealed packages. Then place them (preferably on their side) in an airtight container, and place them in the freezer. Once you are ready to eat the cookies, let the airtight container come to room temperature before opening the container to prevent the colors from bleeding. This can be approximately 2+ hours. Cookies can typically stay fresh in the freezer for 3+ months.

How does Kohl’s Kookies price their cookies?

Making and decorating custom cookies is VERY labor-intensive. Each batch takes anywhere from 7-10+ hours over the course of 2-3 days (not including drying time). This is from making the dough, decoration/detail, to heat seal and package. This does not include the cost of supplies as the cost of supplies continue to rise (as with everything). The last time I calculated, Kohl’s Kookies is roughly making $4-$6/hour. It’s the love and the creative art that keeps me pressing forward.
